Internet Exercise Programs - Fun, Fad or Fantastic?

As obesity rises to levels of 30% of population of America and 23% of population of the United Kingdom, it is clear that there is a real need for an effective method of helping people stay in shape....
Now, unless you have been on Mars for the last several decades you will have bumped into the theory that if you eat less and exercise more you will lose weight, or stay at your healthy weight and your chances of diabetes, heart disease etc., will be reduced, ‘simples’... Yes?
So the question is why are large portions of the populous not doing this? Could it be they don’t have time, will power, finances, access to somewhere to exercise, or the understanding of what exercises to do or what foods to eat?
“Hang on though; aren’t there like loads of gyms everywhere and everyone knows what they’re doing. Don’t they?”
Studies show that 60% of American adults don't get the recommended amount of physical activity, and over 25% of adults are not active at all. These statistics reflect the fact that many of us simply don't exercise. Available time seems to be the biggest excuse for most people. Then along came a system that allowed you to exercise at home whenever you wanted; the Wii fit had arrived and was initially impressive. The introduction of the Balance Board and the realization that twirling virtual hula hoops or dodging virtual soccer balls is harder than it looks.
However, after the wow factor wore off, we realized some of the limitations - the inability to create workouts being one of them. However we did see a big up take and the concept of virtual trainers was born. The development of online personal trainers is a concept that has started to take hold as it allows the user to benefit from training when and wherever they want.
With the ability to give people individual training programs that are targeted to their own personal goals, it allows the body conscious the opportunity to train at home, building their confidence as they progress. Exercise classes are now available online giving the novice user the chance to get a feel for different types of classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Dance Fit, Aerobics and many more. It also allows the fitness class enthusiast the ability never to miss a class again.
Online personal training systems have given greater access to fitness & health advice than ever before and it’s now so easily accessible online. Just make sure you check the sites credentials before accepting their advice as gospel.
